This is a discussion panel on the relationship between mental health and Scripture.  Owen Center counselors Gary Spooner and Braden Benson are joined by Nick Coniglio, another local counselor, to discuss the dynamics of depression, anxiety, mental health, counseling, and where the bible speaks into our suffering.  Thank you to First Baptist Church Opelika for hosting and sharing the video link found below:

Braden holds a Masters of Arts in Christian Counseling and a Masters of Divinity from Reformed Theological Seminary in Charlotte, NC. He received a degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University with a special focus in Marriage and Family Therapy. He has completed certifications for the Association of Biblical Counselors (ABC) and the Association of Certified Biblical Counselors (ACBC). For the past nine years, he and his wife have worked in ministries of counseling, adult Christian education, and with Joni & Friends, a Christ-based ministry to the disabled. He is also currently pursuing a Doctorate of Educational Ministry with an emphasis in biblical counseling through The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. Through the Owen Center Braden pursues a life-calling to serve Christ by cultivating the ministry of biblical counseling in His church.
